Family photos are so important. It’s a snapshot of your family as they are in the moment. I love learning about my subject’s family dynamics and making sure everyone’s personalities shine through!
I understand the importance of family, after all, I am Italian (lol). Every family is a unique tapestry of love, laughter, hilarious dynamics and shared experiences. My mission is to freeze these fleeting moments in time, preserving the genuine emotions and connections that define your family. With a blend of artistry, warmth, and a passion for storytelling, I aim to transform your everyday moments into cherished memories that you can treasure for a lifetime.
From little kids to grown-up kids, I have little tricks up my sleeve for bringing their authentic personalities out! My main goal is to make sure your babies are having fun no matter how old or young they are. When they have fun, the shots end up being way more authentic to them. With little ones, I get right in on play time, from playing tag with them to helping build sand castles to chasing them around a playground! With older kids I do my best to make them feel their “model fantasy”, turning into their biggest cheerleader, and cracking jokes. Don’t get me wrong, the first 2 minutes I get the classic shots for Nanna/Grammies but then I encourage play and go with the flow.
With family photos, I work with you to figure out the best shoot location. If you have really shy kids or really young kids (2 - 5) kids, I recommend shooting in your home, backyard or a location that you frequently visit as a family. If you have 6+ year old kids I recommend selecting a location that everyone loves to go to or do an activity that the whole family loves to participate in - canoeing, baking, painting. I always find that by basing a shoot around an activity, the kids are more excited to get their photo taken and I get more authentic shots.
I make sure that every family member (including the family dog(s) if they are attending!) get their moment in front of my lens. When I’m photographing your family, I’m envisioning a gallery wall in your home and how the images will be featured. For example, a great group shot of the whole gang in the middle, surrounded by just the siblings having fun, some shots of the kids with dad, some shots of the kids with mom, but most importantly, shots of just the parents - they need cute shots too!! Remember, family photos are snapshots of your life, as they are.
I don’t mean to toot my own horn… but 9/10 times, I get hugs after the shoot. From kids to the parents! The ultimate way I know they had fun.
